I am trying to find a good source for a new, or in premium condition instrument panel for my 77. I assume they are all the same but maybe not. I would be completely OK with a new one, even digital, so open to options.

Also, if anyone has any tips on removing the panel I would love to hear them. Mine is really being a bear, don't want to break it but I'm sure there is a trick. Thanks.

Don't take this as the gospel but I believe any cluster will fit from any year. You will have follow the speedo cable under the dash up to the back of the cluster, or remove the ashtray assembly, push down the white tab and pull to unplug. The cluster is only held in by 2 screws on top. Remove those and with the cable disconnected you can tilt it forward enough to get a hand in and disconnect the wire harness by squeezing the top and bottom together. The alternator warning light also needs to be removed with a twist. At that point carefully maneuver it around to clear the dash opening and steering column. Dakota Digital, New Vintage USA and probably others, make 3-in-1 gauge sets that will fit the cluster housing but are not a direct bolt in.

Look up a guy named Tim Blum on here, fb, or maverick comet restoration, he restores instrument clusters and also can do a tach conversion. You will not find a better looking Maverick cluster.
