I can tell you one of the reasons that car didn't get much attention is because of the mispelling of Maverick.

I find things like that on Ebay all the time. It is actually a cool way to find some good deals.

Next time you search for something on ebay. Do the search with the correct spelling then try a common mispelling of the word and do the search that way. The mispelled items get less traffic and as a result less bids and lower selling prices

You are 100% correct plus the fact that it was just a 3 day listing, a lot to do with auctions is there ending time also, too late and right coasters are in bed and too early and left coasters are not home from work, thats were the sniping program works best and the fat finger search program.

Update on car, I went and got the Mav today.

The good, no rust under hood lip just a chip in front on top was rusted, there was no rust on the door other than surface rust, car had not seen any damage to front area, rad support, no rust under vinyl top as far as I could tell no soft or spungy spots, rear quarters are good and rust free, torque box good, passed the cowl water test, drives out fine had new rotors on front, man power disc are touchy compared to non power, interior is in eceptionally good shape

The bad, every body panel except one fender had a dent of somekind in it, none very big just a putty knive of bondo would take care of most of them except one in the trunk area down by the marker light body line its gonna take a little work, faded front fender has some bondo in it, tranny oil line was spliced and leaks, grill broke at mounting points, headliner has a seam that is coming unstitched about three inches long (wife said she could fix that easy) drivers bucket seat has a couple splits in it (they usually do) back bumper has a dent in middle.

Got a really nice sound system in it a Kraco cassette player and speakers.LOL

But heres the kicker to the whole deal, when he gave me the title it had just been signed over to him earlier last week and it appears that he had bought it for $650.00, arrrgh, not against someone making money just why couldnt it have been me that found it for that price. I feel that I got a good deal but now I have to decide since I am going to have to body work should I just change it over to small bumpers or keep it original and a true 75 Grabber.

Had a little excitement on way home, tire on trailer desided to seperate and sent rubber flying luckily I was by an off ramp and just bailed off quickly, got tire changed on on the road again got about 15 miles from home and noticed my ramp was sliding out the side, apparently rubber knocked the pin out of ramp keeper and took a few turn on road home to work its way out, it was out far enough I am sure that it could have hit someone. Wondering if car is jinxed at the moment.

Glad the deal on the car worked out good. For a 30+ year old car, sounds like a great deal. Yup, sucks when those trailer tires decide to fragment.

Nice car. Sounds like you got a good deal. Doesn't eBay offer $20,000 insurance on bad deals? That's supposed to protect buyers from scams.

Keep it original. I love original Mavericks, big bumpers or not. Love that color scheme too.

Glad to hear the deal went well.

Hard to say on the bumpers. Normally I would be for swapping small bumpers, but that particular car looks pretty good with the big bumpers. Maybe slide them in?

Still sounds like an awesome car!! Dents are better than rust any day. Keep it original, it's one you won't see many of. For 2500 it was still a good deal!

Sounds like you still got a great deal at $2500. I vote for keeping it original due to the rarity of the 75 Grabbers and this one being so well equipped. Good luck!

Cool that it worked out well for you. $2500 for that car is still a fine price.

Glad that everything was OK with the trailer mishaps, too. I think if the car was jinxed, you would have totalled the car, trailer, and your truck, upside down in a ditch on fire.

Everything survived, ... so I would call it LUCKY! :yup:

I am wondering if the guy held out on actually putting the title in his name until fight before he decided to sell it. If that was the case, he might have bought the car for $650 originally,... like 15 years ago?
