    Had a 2-1/4" Dr. Gas X-pipe (into 2-chamber Blowblasters) behind a 347 '90 Mustang. Loved it.

I just didn't care for the H-pipe sound (that a couple of my buddie's Mustangs had).

It's just a matter of personal opinion to me. It might even come down to cost.

I have no idea about the h.p. gain/loss/indifference of either.

Once again, if you're interested in the X sound I have a clip of my mustang drag car making a run at the strip. FlowTech headers dumped into 3" pipes. The X is right under the trans tail shaft, then directly out of the 3" X is a pair of 3" IMCA mufflers (the ones that are like 4" long and don't really "muffle" a whole lot. It's legal for our class though.

    The .wav is here

Let me know if that doesn't work & I'll host it somewhere else.

That's why I originally put it on--to hurt some ear drums and to make people ask silly questions. It does a good job of both.

I used so say that it sounds similar to a 180 degree header on a V8 but it really doesn't. It's a little different.

HERE is what a 180 degree header sounds like. That is a 450+ HP 340 Dodge small block on the dyno, max RPM is about 6500, IIRC.
