    X pipe

    Hello again Homermav:
If you have a welder handy and a hacksaw you can make your own X pipe. We ordered two Mandrel Bends 90 degrees and cut off the bend area slightly , mated them , welded them together then we welded a small 1/8th inch plate on the bottom for strength and it worked out great on four of the cars I mentioned earlier. The first X-Pipe I installed was 13 years ago and I ordered an entire exhaust system that included the X
pipe . We installed it on a 408 stroker and it sounded great and performed very well .. but it was an expensive lesson. After that we make our own. :) Cometized

Generaly speaking, I think you are going to see more of a change in the way it sounds than in performance gains. Its really a question of weather you think the sound change is a good thing or a bad thing, And thats more of a personal preferance. Seperate pipes sounds more muscle car, X-pipe cross over sounds more race car. Do you have tailpipes or is it dumped at the axle? I hope you decide to go for it. Please post your results/ findings if so. Better yet before and after video. Good luck.:)
