If I was the one spending that kinda money on the car I would be corresponding with this guy constantly and he would be sending me pics out the wazoo...nice to think a bone stock Grabber can bring that kinda of money though:)
The bidding has basically boiled down to a fight between 2 people now...both with zero feedback ratings...hmmmm...just thinking out loud:D

No feedback on the bidders. No reserve on such a nice car? We are bein had. The seller is an ebay member since Jan. 04. I take back my thinking of what it will sell for. It will bid up to whatever the shill bidders will take it to. I have had this happen to me before, has all the earmarks.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention this fact. 4 pics of this car? Last week a stallion sold on ebay and must have had 20 pics of it, and it went for a measly $600.00. 4 pics and it is gonna go for more than anything we have seen? It's all a scam man.

that stallion that sold for $600 last week has been relisted. seems the buyer didn't want to drive the distance to where the car was. it said it was in the nashville region. that was the closest to the guys area. he would have had to drive 275 miles for it. the guy said he couldn't afford to drive that far????

    Too good to be true.

It is a little fishy! I noticed the zero feedback as well.

I agree - prices climb like that in the final hours of an auction .. not the first couple of days ...

I must say it is a very nice looking car, but I also think there is something going on with the bidding. The seller and the two highest bidders all joined Ebay within 2 weeks of each other. Now either that is strangely coincidental or those guys are playing some serious headgames here. If the car was factory fresh original I could see it going that high. I'm going to just watch and see how this plays out. Anyone have any idea what the highest price a Maverick of any kind has sold for?

I saw one reportely sell in the $15,000 range. It was the very first car to ever be featured in FULL COLOR in the MCCI newsletter. Very cherry car!! Now belongs to John Ford's buddy down in Somerset, KY.

I've never seen a aircleaner on a Mav or Comet with that vacuum hose run to it like that, or a cold air intake hose, at least not on an early model.
I'd like to see where that hose terminates.

That is a 73 and up air cleaner - not even correct for the car .. The 70-72 models had a mechanical thermostat to close the end of the air cleaner (called the heated air intake system) and pull intake air off the exhaust manifold when the car was cold. The later models used a vacuum like the one in this picture. I think the entire auction is gonna turn out to be a sham.

The last bidders feedback is so old you cannot even determine what he had bid on before ...

I like to look at peoples feedback and items they are buying and selling. Kinda tells you what type of person they are and what hobbies they have ...
