Yep, it's going to be my test mule. Terry has a rusty Mustang II front end that I'm going to get and put on this '76 just to see if it's something I can do myself. If that goes good I'll weld up the rest of the holes in the rear quarter, grind it down and smooth it with bondo, put a relatively stock 429/460 in it and give it a spray bomb paint job with small bumpers and a Comet front end. Then use it for a semi-daily driver. Something about a big block Maverick just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
From what I've seen Jamie, the MII crossmember is the big part. Once you get it welded in, the rest is a piece of cake. Find some street rod magazines, they usualy have a feature on MII install about once a year. While the car may be different than a pre 48 model, the install is basically the same. Just remember to measure twice, no three or four times, cut once! Have fun! Us older guys {most of us that is] learned just the way you are, the best way in my opinion, by doing it hands on. You can look at all day in a book, but nothing beats cutting your hands dirty!
