I really do not like talking about other poeples cars but, my hand was forced from comments made on the other board. This calender represent all maverick/comet owners and should be the best cars out there. So poeple can aspire to be at the top.

This is my opinoin and I think I'm entitled to it whether you like it or not. I am happy you are in the Maverick world and proud of your car, you should be. But everyone knows what condition thier car is in so why complicate this huge task with cars that aren't worthy. We all started with POS's except for the few that bought them new lucky B's

    Here is how I voted I am not afraid to tell poeple 9, 11, 18, 25, 32, 34, 38, 42, 46, 50, 55 and 60

allright now i know i missunderstood Thack's comments. I thought he meant that there too many posts/threads about the whole calendar thing and he didn't have time to take a good pic of his car. was never my intention to offend any one here!
    I'm sorry about the confusion!:(

i understand the picture thing...the pic. i entered was the only one i had that was large enough.
in the earlier talks of the calendar, i thought we were posting pics. of the...car entry... and better pics.(calendar shots) would be sent to the printer. i may have misunderstood that all together...:yup:

    size of pics
Blugene , I know this much the higher the resolution the better ,one thing Christine told me is that they will be formated to 300 ,what ever that is. What ever pics are voted for the calendar ,if the printing company thinks they need a better pic ,i will contact that person and ask for a better pic of there car .I dont think there will be any problems with the pics im seeing.

That was said. Maybe I started THIS problem but it was moved forward by others. I THINK I was the first one who mentioned submitting the quality pics the printer would need. If I wasn't, I agreed with it. I only thought we should do that so Jimmy would not have to be contacting half the winners trying to get better pics.
The calander I have created, which is about 2 weeks from completion and test print, is slightly different than this one. I am doing my best just like John did. John's came out so good, I can only hope to provide something close to what he did. But who knows? Maybe it will turn out equally the same quality wise... One thing for sure, we see that it is possible to achieve greatness and that's MY bar.

Hello Blugene ,i dont understand this ,am i to understand that your puting together a 2009 calendar also?Is it to be sold on this forum ?,isnt that conflicting with what i started. We have not yet hit 100 sold ,and the more that were sold the cheaper the price .I would think as it stands there would be no room for another one this year.I dont know whats going on here but its getting crazy . Is this the joke going around ,another calendar being made with the so called best cars here on the forum?.If this is the case ,why didnt someone say something ,it could of saved me alot of stress and grief.

The way I understand it is... The joke refers to us thinking our "POS cars" are calendar worthy. (sorry, I'm just a little bitter about that statement)

I believe the calendar should represent the members of this community and the passion they have for their vehicles. Doing so in light of recent comments and opinions is the embodiment of the Maverick spirit in all of us. (even you Comet owners :D ). I will be proud to hang my calendar on my office wall for all to see. My name is Chris and yes I own a POS Maverick.

Wow!!!!!!!!! I can't believe all the arguing over a calender. It's just a car.Why not take all the cars that have been submitted, put the owners name in a hat and draw 12. If you don't get picked this year, there is always next year.

Hey everyone I'm sorry for using POS in my post, I did not realize how much this would offend. This was not my intension, I use these letters all the time to describe stuff Including Tammy's and my cars. In my eyes it's not derogitory it just identifes an unfinished car.

I want a calender but my car really is POS:rofl2:
and until it is ready I would not even consider having it represent this community to the world. I know the calender is for all of "US" members of all sites and clubs.....but lets be honest. Some cars just are not worthy. That is my opinion and I am entitled to it....I think:hmmm: The reason I feel that way is many people will see them besides us. That old saying put your best foot forward comes to mind.....

That is not a slight to anybodies car. I know first hand the money, time, blood, sweat, and tears that goes into building them.

THACK is a stand up guy give him some slack on this one.....
He is from california after all:D:evilsmile

All I have to say is this: the idea was great! people were ASKED not demanded to post their pictures and after all the cars will be voted. I voted on the best looking ones for my taste so let the 13 most voted win that's all. so for the next 2010 calendar maybe we should start this earlier? more time less stress?

So, should we all shake hands(virtually) and just be friends?
