What the heck does "squirrely in the front end" mean?

    Could be it drives that way because it is an old FORD!!!

    I still HATE ford's old power steering systems...

    Seriously, the car may be fine. We're not trying to scare you off because we want to see you get one. I do think it would be a good idea to have a mechanic check it over though if the owner would agree to it. If he knows you are serious about the car, he should be willing to take it in for an alignment and you could hopefully be able to talk to the alignment tech before making the purchase. I wouldn't have a problem paying for the alignment as long as the car checked out without any major problems so you could make that offer. If the owner knows of a major problem, he will likely decline.
