Nick....DO NOT part out that car. Too many cars are getting parted out, no need to part out a nice one. I know you think the car has problems, but that car is vitrually rust free. I will sell you whatever parts you need, and then you can sell me Spookie.
You guys have convinced me to "69" the idea of parting out Spookie. I figure if I replace everything it will eventually be new again.
Spookie feels the love!! I am going to drive him to work tomorrow so I can go to my brother inlaws shop after work to use his lift. It is going to be replace all the brakes, rubber brake lines and fix the transmission leak day. Thursday is going to be replace all power steering hoses, control valve and ram day.
Nick, Spooky is one of my favorite cars I saw at the Roundup ... no kidding ...It is so close to how I was starting to picture my Comet, right now. I was tossing up a color change to orange as a possibility at one point (nice 2nd choice, decided on Legend Lime, a retro Mustang color). The stance on the car is very good.... but my favorite thing about it is that you drive the wheels off of it. Get your other car done ... have that as the nice show car, and keep Spooky around to do the fun stuff in, without having to worry about really driving it. Once you wrap your mind around what you ultimately plan to do, the engine choice will be easy. If you drive it a lot daily, fat torque curve and not too radical a cam, and the ability to live on "cheap-ish" gas would be good. Compression around 9-1, you might be able to run on 89 octane instead of 91.
