The transmission mount would only have to be modified for the AOD - not the C4. You can do the mod yourself I think you have to extend the mount rearward 1 1/2 inches - don't know for sure but if you do a serch here on the boards you will get a list of what others have done.

I like the advice from PaulS better. Having an overdrive gear is nice for highway driving, but the swap is a can of worms...

Not according to Frank (71gold). I just talked to him on the phone and told me the layout he did. He said it was a fairly easy mod to do. The only thing he suggested was to put in 3.55 gears in the rear end. He said the tranny shifts the way it should and it gives the car a "bit of pep", as he put it. He also told me about how to mount the double hump crossmember so the transmission will bolt right up. Not many mods to do, and the ones I have to do are quite simple. Thanks Frank!! So... Away I go with the 302 swap w/ AOD tranny!! :burnout:Sweet! Thanks everyone for your input and time!

Hopefully, I can get this done before the snow flies!:biglaugh:

I think we need some sort of thing where polls automatically expire after a certain amount of time. This is the second old thread in a week that has been brought back from the dead by someone voting on the poll..

    Not a bad idea.
Looks like a decision was made.
