lol...ok....so now i should stick with my heads and port them? this is so confusing and frustrating.....

i am sure i have 1.6 rockers.....they are stamped steel...i thought about getting 1.7 rockers....to open the cam a little more....

i will be getting the rear end done...one day....3.55 trac lok..posi..whatver you call it... so thats not an issue...

Unless you have the money for a real set of heads or trip over a great deal, I would stick with what you have, porting optional. You can gain a good bit by porting, but it will do ok without.

I wouldn't worry about the 1.7 rockers, stock heads don't really increase flow over .5 lift.

I was referring to the E7 (late model 5.0) heads b/c you can get them for little or nothing. Rework them while you drive your car, port them, pedestal rockers are more common and cheaper, change the valves if you like. I have seen people give 5.0 heads away due to the affordable aluminum heads available.

I have already talked to CompCams & they are going to do a custom grind cam for about $220 for cam & lifters. It's a hydr. cam not a roller cam. The max lift is .495 but is a duel pattern cam. They said it take a day or two to make. It will also have a 108 lobe sep. But a 2500 stall will be needed.
