Heck NO!!! I'm trying to increase MY buddy list. It's gettin kinda lonely down here where I live. I need MORE MAVERICKS down HERE.
thats exactly what I was thinking heck Barry....now you can join the convoy to the Round-up this year good luck on the move
Actually, the shock in moving to Savannah won't be as bad as you think for the NY guys. It wil be slower, but unlike other towns in Georgia, there will be more in common. The largest per capita Catholic population in Georgia (and several southern states) is in Savannah. The nation's second largest St Patty's Day pararde and celebration is in Savannah, including turning the river green. The fourth busiest sea port that is east of the Mississippi River is in Savannah. General Sherman did not burn Savannah, giving it as present to President Lincoln on December 25, 1864 and lived his later years in New York City until he died in 1890.
I can tell you that most people have and old fashioned notion about what Georgia is like. Just like any place you can go out in the stix and find a slow way of life. However, around any urban area, especially around Atlanta, it is the same hustle and bustle rat race as on other large metropolitan area.
to GA! I just got back from spending a few days in Indianapolis, and lets just say I'm very thankful to be where I'm at. Couldn't pay me to move up north. Dan, thats because everyone in Atlanta is from somewhere else!
Hey I think I will move to GA also.. Just to be close to riporter.. HMMMMMM Well it will be a toss-up between KY and Ga..My bro there in KY
I am a rarity. I am a "native Atlantan." I was actually born in the city limits of Atlanta; not a suburb. Of course, when I was born the suburbs were five miles from downtown Atlanta. Now, they are as fas as 45 miles from downtown.
Barry - If you have a couple of hours on one of your trips down I-95, you can detour over to Greensboro to see the Mustang II and the 460 stuff in the Mav in person rather than by pics. Guy I work with is from Long Island. He has a pretty thick New York accent. I keep telling him there is no "W" in "Lowng Island" - as he says. Cleavfer
Yeah, but can you get a good Italian canoli or cheese steak sandwich??? When I made the statement about culture shock, I was thinking with my stomach! Sam
Sam in the old cities like Savannah and Charleston you find some of the best Italian food on this earth...just not on every corner like up their A recent transplant from up that way of Italian descent turned me on to Sambuca in a Double espresso...mmmm...make you slap ya momma
