That is telling you the maxium gross (load) weight...not the weight of the car

Mine weighed in at 2980 with a full tank, street tires, a toolbox, and my 200 lb fatass in the front seat.

Mine is a 74 with small bumpers, 5.0, C4, and 8" rear. Bucket seats from a 70, but I doubt it makes much difference. 2780 lbs small bumper, 2850 on a big bumper v8 car, plus or minus.

No way the car weighs anywhere near 4000 lbs. Even loaded down with moonshine, and a front brush guard installed.

    Thanks Guys

Thanks for the weight and towing info. I just got home with the car late last night Even though it is pretty lite with the engine and tranny gone I still figured that a full size tow vehicle was needed given the distance we had to travel.

As to your question Roger. I haven't decided if it's gonna be a parts car or not yet. The body's in better shape than my 76 was when I started this project, and the interior is pretty much all new. Still I hate to think I put so much work into the 76 for nothing. Maybe I'll just build them both.:tiphat:

Looks like a nice one to build, you can't have to many :)
