i looked up that and it looks like what i already have on my alternator. my brackets are curved and have a spacer on the big bolt to mount the alternator but to have it line up with the back pulley wheel on the crank and the water pump it would have to move back. im pretty sure i got a pulley from another member on the forum and he is running the same set up im running

Yup, I got him covered! :thumbs2:

I got mine from a mustang parts house, made for a single belt setup. I had to shim it just a touch, so I used a single washer behind each bolt to push it out just that little bit to line it up.

And my setup runs off the furthest forward of the 3 grooves on the crank pulley (mine was AC/PS car). It is the largest pulley and will spin the waterpump and alternator more quickly.

The fan belt says 7430 Gates XL then 11A1090. Not sure which of those is the part number. I have 2 so will send the belt(s) with the pulley.

ok so your running off the front pulley that's the same diameter as the middle one on the crank because thats the one my alternator runs off of.

But if you run the belt on the center pulley, it won't line up with the pulley I am sending you. This one lines up with the front pulley.

You know what, you may be right. Here is a pic of mine, and it is running from the 2nd pulley groove. I have it all apart now, and it looked like it lined up with the front groove, but it now looks like it is like yours.

My belt went from crank pulley, to water pump (using the pulley I am sending you) to alternator, and back to crank.

Buy the alternator brackets I mentioned before,(Ford Racing, but others sell the same parts, these are 289 pieces) move the alternator pivot bolt to the matching outermost bolt hole in the heads (skip the aluminum bracket it was bolted to) And the pulley will line up with the waterpump and rearmost crank pulley (or close enough to shim the difference) Look at the setup I have on my 331 in my photobucket site linked to below. I made the triangular bracket from 3/8" aluminum and used a factory adjustment slide bracket and factory spacer behind the alternator on the pivot bolt. It all lined up with only a thick washer added behind the alternator pulley to make it work. The crank pulley and waterpump pulleys are stock stuff from early 70's 302/351W's. The crank pulley's construction allowed me to machine off the two outer sheeves of the crank pulley.

Do you want all the brackets that I had on mine, just in case? I put the pulley and belts into a box, and have room left over...
