i too feel the same as ken. i have tried on many occations to get the local members together at different shows and no one will even answer my posts. i have tried meeting before turkey rod, meeting in orlando to cruise old town ( the largest weekly cruise going ), or to even caravan up to the silver springs show. no responses.
lately there have been many new mavs and an occational comet showing up at the local cruises and popularity is building but unfortunately in florida the MCCI is sorely unnoticed and over shadowed by other groups such as CAMEO because the members actually keep intouch and do things together.
ken and i do attend shows together but we are it. the only time we hear from comet princess is at silver springs and even then her presence is minimal. sorry to be harsh and nothing personal against chrissy but there simply is no activity in one of the few states that we can show our cars year round. i would love to advertise more for the club and ken and i do advertise this forum but when someone asks about what the club can do for them i am at a loss as to what to tell them..
don't get me wrong i do like the MCCI and what it stands for and will try to help however possible but it does get very lonely on the border states. also good luck with the new MCG . i hope both clubs can coexist in harmony to help grow this hobby

HAWKO-- are you interested in coming south for the silver springs show? i don't know where rex georgia is but it might not be to far to attend a great show. at least then we would have 4 of us and maybe plan to meet for dinner somewhere.

My wife and I are talking about it. It's "iffy," but we are talking about it.

I thinking about planning something around Valdosta, GA next summer. Y'all might can make that one.

    Craig,
Your right, the MCCI will not have a local feel to it until it has a large number of members in a smaller area. Although, a couple of local annual meets from the few Florida Gang Maverickers would be nice.
I didn't want to step on the State Rep's toes by hosting a get together because I assumed that these gatherings were put on by the clubs staff (State Rep).
By the way, what is the responsibility of a State Rep? It's an election year, I might think about running.
Jason Miller and I cruise together whenever possible. We're working together to grow the Central Florida area and always refer people to the website. Referring people to the website is not necessarily referring them to the MCCI Club. There inlies another problem.

Terry, I'm intersted in the Valdosta cruise if my AOD transplant goes OK. But you gotta make it in the Spring or Fall. (No A/C)

    More to come,
    Ken

As stated before....either in this thread or another one (I can't remember)...One does not need to be a State Rep to host an MCCI Mini-meet. Any member can host one. Obviously we would like for you to be in contact with your state rep and let them know you are wanting to host one. I suggest you contact MCCI State Rep Co-ordinator Seth Roberts directly as he is more than willing to help out and get the ball rolling.
