Nice job Dennis. I just had a fiberglas valance made from an original with a Shelby type scoop in the center. I also had a front spoiler made that fits the valance perfectly...unlike the ones we've been getting from MAS Racing. When I get them in primer I'll take photos and post them for you guys. He made a mold of both pieces so they can be reproduced easily if anyone wants to get some made.
Craig ... I guess you could use Mustang style front directional lights sort of like what people have done mounting Mustang reverse lights in the rear valance.
Its for the Comet but I'm taking those grill lights out too. I got something else in mind for them. I'd love to see your pics Ray when you get them done.
Thanks for posting this Dennis...the 70 model valence on my car is shot...looks like I can take the 73 valence and make a new one useing this mod.
don't the lower part of Rad get air from there .. could become a over heating problem ..just my penneys worth
all on the engine and the Rad ...would be covering up surface for air to enter ..i know on my 72 it would cause it to over heat and i have a Alum radiator....might not be as bad with a cross flow rad ..on the later mavs they put the plastic under the rad suport to make sure the air went to the rad
Although I'm no engineer, The opening is as big as the radiator. All of the area that was covered up is just flat metal of the core support anyways. I doubt any of that air made it through the radiator anyway. I dont think it will have any adverse effect on cooling.
looks great. i have had my car running in a garage with no overheating problems.rick here's a couple of pictures
