    Yep!! A few of us do! I don't need a radar detector, those truckers keep a pretty sharp eye out for speed traps. In really bad weather I can find out what's ahead of me, and if I'm extremely sleepy, it keeps me awake. I don't know, it's just kinda neat to have one. I know a lot of truckers too, so that helps also. Preston

    I got a old cobra 29 outfitted with big galaxy finals that does 65 watts on its own. Yep I'm a cber from wayback

    hehe... my first Comet had a CB in it for the most of my life... Dad kept it when I got the car...

    My grandpa still uses a CB. He drives all over the south east every week buying antique "junk" for his flea market, and them truckers sure know whats going on around you.

    i have a cobra as well.... it has channels above 40 and channels below 1 and extra channels on the side... i also have a 100watt linear...on a good night i can get texas from tucson....

    For us real old timers, you used to have a license to operate one. Somewhere I still have my CB license. I'll have to dig it out and post it tonight.

    ya i remember my dad saying something about cb lisences. i dont have one, but i do have a "general radio licence" which i don't recall what it entails (got it through tech school with my Electronics degree

    Here it is. Straight from 1976. I believe it was about $10 back then. You was supposed to use the call number when you talked on it.

    That's cool Dennis, I am amazed you could find it.
    A license is no longer required to operate an unmodified CB radio. Of course I don't think it was ever legal to operate a modified one even with a license.
