"For some reason, that made me chuckle."

Shadow, stick around. You have proven in the past, at least to me, your level of knowledge and professionalism. I don't always agree with everything you say, but you almost always say something I agree with. Some people can't handle the truth. I'd be gone from here 30 times over if I left every time someone said something rude to me. Some people get it, some people don't, but sure think they do...

You have stated that we are RUDE:mg: . However, TO THE POINT or POLITICALLY INCORRECT, would be more correct.

I'm not sure who your chassis guy is, but for YOUR safety you need to have the work you have posted checked. You don't have to believe any of us. Just take it over to the drag strip at the L.V. speedway and get the NHRA tech staff to look at what has been done. I have been an official for over 25 years at an NHRA track and what I see on your car is dangerously scary. You are being taken based on the work you have shown. The work is not done safely or effectively:slap:

Don't blame the guys on this board for telling you the truth. Blame the guy that told you this is good work and properly done:cussing: .

Forget the words that were used in the posts, but please get the message.

Lets see what you guys who are putting down these connectors have. Do any of you have anything better that you put on your cars?
I am not much on being PC - I coun't care less about what is and is not politically correct. If I see something that can be improved upon, and it won't do more harm to the person who owns it than good, I will share what I think whould improve it and why or how.
All you nay-sayers have shown is that you know how to whine and complain about someone elses hard work when it doesn't look like you think it should. Not one word on how to make it better other than making an admitted unfinished work LOOK nicer. It hasn't been welded yet this is just the fit-up. That's what the poster said if you had stopped to READ. You guys aren't even professional @$$holes. Like I said before a professional would have more respect for another man's work and himself than to cut down the work without offering ideas on how to make it stronger, or to do the job it is supposed to do better and maybe look better in the process.

If the frame connectors were made of rectangular tubing with a 1/8" wall thickness (or bigger if you want more strength and can have the weight) and gusset weld the sides of the tubing to the sides of the sub-frames. The bends in the connectors can be made by making a cut through three of the sides, bending it together and welding the gap closed to form a one piece solid connector. To connect it to the sub-frames the top of the rectangular tubing is left while the rest of it is cut to fit the sub-frame contours. Gussets connect the sides to the sub-frames and fish plates are added for rigidity.
This kind of connector can be installed two ways. You can follow the contour of the floor (difficult to do and weakens the connector unless you actually weld them to the floor - which is a good idea anyway. The other way to mount them is through the floor. Cut a slot where the connectors will penetrate the floor. This allows the connectors to remain straight on that axis which adds strength. Then when you use thin angle iron as a gusset to weld the floor and the connectors together it adds strength to the entire area.

Anyone have any better ideas? Got plans? Pictures of the installation? Or are you going to whine that my idea is a bad one too? If you can't do anything but complain then I haven't got the time for you - I'm a professional, a teacher, a minister, a hobbyist and a gentleman. I am not particularly politically correct and I have little tollerance for winers.

Unfortunately, I find that most people who do something and ask for your opinion, are not asking for your opinion. They are asking for your approval. When that approval is not given and the task is criticized, they take it personally because they persoanlly believe what they did or had done is correct, right, works great, and is worthy of your praise. Had it been me, when my chassis guy made a recommendation to build what we see, I would've gotten on the board and asked for opinons of his idea. That didn't happen here. So, what we do have are hurt feelings and name calling. Typical of the situation. It is fine art to offer praise tempered with criticism.

Paul How about you post some of your work? Your responses indicate quite possibly you are a master of passing bad work as good work. So to call you out and everybody else. I will pay to fly this guy out to your car or anybody elses and do the exact same intsall since you feel his work is quality and safe. I mean it. How about it Paul? If you say yes PM your phone number and I will discuss getting this done. I'm not kidding.
I'm tired of people asking for opinions and then wining when they get them. I studied those pics for a good 15 mins. The work is pathetic. If I did work like that I would cut it off and start over all the while hanging my head in shame. I have the money to send this guy, so anybody that wants this quality work just PM and your dreams will come true:evilsmile

Edit: Something else I need to get off my chest. This is a High Horsepower car. If this was a stock 200 six I could care less. Anybody that has stuck up for this shoddy work is just setting this guy up for hurtin. A false sense of saftey almost always ends bad PERIOD.
I also have enjoyed watching James Comet post his progress. I hope he continues to do so. I extend my apologies to him if I offended him in any way, but my opinion stands FIRMLY.
