the fastest i have been in mine was 90 (6cyl motor,on an empty back road) not too scary. then one day i gave it too much gas when i was makeing a left turn at the light and the car did a 360 in the middle of the street, now that scared the **** out of me, from then on i take my time getting someplace when the road is wet, if the 302 was in it that day i would have wrecked for sure.
Maybe or we have a different definition of working the wheel. At the end when he was changing lanes it looks like he is having to fight a little bit of wandering. I had the same issues with my 70 Torino and I did not like it in the least, my GTO was always rock solid at speed and you didn't move the wheel unless you wanted to change where you were ( had both these cars in my young and dumb age!).
I could take another angle on that... You're right, but for me at least, the older I got the more "risking my life" meant. Perspective changed. These days I'd be risking someone's husband, and somebody's father. And since becoming somebody's father, I recognize that I every stupid thing I ever did was also risking somebody's son. So if I die taking unnecessary risks, even if I don't take out a minivan full of kids, I still would be destroying lives. It's more about them than self preservation, or maybe "self" just means more now.
Its funny how you go through stages. AS a teen I was indestructible and didnt even enter my head I could hurt someone else. Then you get a bit older and realize"wow I could get killed" Then a little bit older and you realize "I could hurt someone else". It really changed when I had kids. Life just becomes a lot more precious. I went speedo buried for miles in a 74 Gran Torino I built a 400 in just days prior. Car was so unstable and dangerous with that awful floaty power steering. What a Moron. 17 years old. They couldnt figure out how I burned up a whole tank of fuel going to the cottage.
It's an amazing difference between 20 and 40! I see things in a whole new way compared to then but I wouldn't change a thing.

Traffic was steady at about 80 on the speedometer. Going up a hill, there was no way those buses and big trucks were moving 80 MPH. :16suspect
i've been in brazil and they drive recklessly fast, even big trucks! so i think that speedometer is in mph and this guy is driving at least at 135mph which is way too fast for a car that doesn't brake that fast, providing this guy didn't modified the brakes which most people usually don't do, at least not until AFTER modifying the engine, and since he didn't even align the steering wheel i don't think he did. the acceleration and the engine noise are very cool though.
one night years ago (2003) when i first got my Mav, took it out an freeway and decided to take it fast, maxed out the 80MPH speedo, rolled all the way to the ten-thousand mark and the front end of the car started to float............ and that was the last of that......
Found out one night that my 71 Torino didn't like to turn at all at 120+ mph. It kept trying to go straight around a gentle bend in the road. Took 4 Xs the amount of steering wheel that it should have, so it was plowing bad. Utterly amazing that a car that heavy would just float on air. Bought a front spoiler almost immediately. Yup, young and foolish at the time.... now older and only slightly smarter.
