One of the first things I did was check the level and smell it, it was all good. Thanks Ken, yes I believe its going to be a fun build with the exception of her making up her mind as to what she wants, very undecided about some things, especially the Magazine offer.
I have to say that I love all those old period correct multi-carb air cleaners. But to be fair to guys wanting more power.. I also have to say that most are absolutely horrid from an airflow standpoint. I'd try like hell to squeeze a velocity stack below each filter base and step up to a slightly larger, yet still period correct design if at all possible.
I did at least when I bought the car, get three new older air filter assembly's included with all the parts....
Not quite as cool as the others.. but those will flow much better. It's not as hard as you might think to mod things like these into small cleaner bases either. Found out some new info on the original MaviGT last night, talking with a newly made friend on FB, he asked me what I was building next, I sent him the picture of the original MaviGT sitting behind the fire hydrant, and he came back and said he had seen that car in person in Dearborn back in 1972, he said it was like a teal blue color!
