i agree with blugene.my saying is it is costing nothing to keep it.no payment so i'm out nothing but ins. and tags.you'll regret it and when you do how much will it cost yu to find a new car and get it where you've gottin yours to.now THATS gonna cost you alot.put a cover over it keep it play with the boat (it'll get old i have three and rarely use them right now) and when you get the itch again, and you will,it'll be there....matt

you asked the wrong crowd to get an...unbiased opinion...:yup:

now the next question..."how to prep a car for...long time storage"...

1- put on jackstands to relive tension on supension and prevent flat spots on tires.
    2-drain/treat all fluids.
    3-remove battery (s)
4-place...mice, bug and moisture repellent inside car, trunk and under hood.
    5-remove batteries from hatcam.
6-leave doors and trunk lid ajar so seals want collapse (flatten).
7-keep tag and ins. up to date... (no one will know how long it's been parked)
8-keep under a good car cover even if in a garage.( it will protect it from minor bumps and scratches) if you put a blanket over the...trunk, hood and top before the cover, you can store small items on it.
I'm sure there are more suggestions...:Handshake

Sell it, if you are thinking it, you don't really like it, so get some money and run.

Since you're keeping it:rolleyes:, If you're going to let it sit for a long period of time, go to the gas station, add a good quality fuel stabilizer when you fill up(and shake it good on the way home:drive:) to keep the tank from rusting above the fuel line. (the less ethanol, the better)

It might help you get motivated if you kick the tires, open the door or hood and look around for a minute or two. Find something to do no matter how small of a project. Heck, clean out the ash tray if nothing else. Might find some money under the seat.

Just a example,Friend of mine has a tubbed big block Chevelle,no sound deadner,no heat insulation etc 3" exhaust,5.13's spool...Well he gets the same idea, the cars hot loud and uncomfortable and he decides to buy a boat.Puts the Chevelle for sale..no takers bad time to sell a car.So he tucks it in the corner of the garage and goes on enjoying the boat.Well it wasn't too long the novelty wore off none of us guys have any intrest in boats, boat cruise nights suck and it was harder on fuel than his 454 Chevelle. The last straw was when the rear end in his pick up went because it was full of water from launching the boat.
Anyway the boats sold and he is useing the cash to make the car more comfortable and street friendly.
I guess there are car people and boat people you just got to decide who you are.

Took a half day today. Going to attempt a gas cap modification and install chin spoiler.

    Trying to get re-motivated...

Flip-open gas cap cover. Custom jobby.

A little big, as it was made for a mustang tail panel, but I think it will work.

Put AC on it and keep it! You won't lose any HP when it's not on, and when it's on, you can drive comfortable! And the wife will go for rides again, maybe even want to drive it!

Now I need to heed my own advice and start looking for AC stuff again! I've gotten sidetracked with the Vette and street rod build.
