I am new to this site and somewhat new to Mavericks. This site had made everything about working on Mavs so much easier and with fewer mistakes...its great! I would be lost without it...count me in for any donations!! I hope to meet some of you at some of the functions next year...hopefully mine will be done by then. Thanks again for a great site. (..and I will be joining MCCI)

If a fee is charged, I will pay it! The amount of info here is staggering and the willingness of people to help is refreshing! Sponsors, fee's adds what ever it takes!

    hmm

stefan, i am the one who contacted you about customizing the forums and what not....

dunno if u remembered, but i run my own site HERE and there are a few things i could suggest.

First would be giving your services to make money for the site.
Thats the step i have choosen with my site. I simply charge VERY small fee's (like 10% of what big wig business's charge) just to do website layouts and other graphics. With all the money made, i can afford to keep the site running. Possibly u have something u could sell service wise on here?

    Also, Changing your web host?
I have a list of killer webhosts, lots of bandwith, and space, and such, for cheap!

Another thing would be the domain name... get a dot com? they are a lot more popular and cheaper, then do it?

And there are a few other things. Also, if needed, i could even run the forums off of my webhost and such. you can be super admin of forums and whatever else.

All just suggestions. Hope it helps.

I also would like to thank you for all you've done for the Maverick community. Many people that visit this site have helped me when I asked for it. It's like having your own shop manuel here. I own several muscle Mustangs & Fords, so I only visit this site occasionally, rather then daily. I barely have time to post, so keeping this sit up must take a lot more effort. I am not that computer literate, but I have often thought about having my own web site. And I would literally need you to walk me thru it. Anyway, count me in & I'll support you in any way possible. Again, thank you.

    Re: hmm

I still remember. Your site is top notch :)

That is why I set up cybermaverick.net

Good and cheap are to find. Im on my 4th host and 6th server, and transfering hosts gets complicated with multiple databases and scripts(some scripts have 'broke'). Up time for the MMB has been excellent since the last move. The server is a 2.4Ghz P4 and load levels are very low. I really do not want to move anytime soon or separate the MMB from the main site.

If you ever want to set up a website, take a look at
    cybermaverick.net.

I could walk you through all the steps. The only thing you would have to do is make your page. Here is an excellent program http://www.evrsoft.com/

    I'll Be Getting With You....

    Stefan,

I'll be getting with you in the next couple of weeks. I still have to come up with a suitable name for my chassis sideline. I will be looking at the second level of service. Is it going to be a problem to upgrade in mid-stream if I need to? Just asking....wishful thinking on my part :D

    Thanks,

Just got back after a little absence. You do a great job. I won't use the web hosting. But if funding is required for this board......in the words of one of the characters in the "Right Stuff"........."Hmmmmm Sounds Dangerous! Count me in."

    Stefan,

Would it possible to add a small fee to the MCCI that would apply toward maintaining this web site. Like say another $5.00 a person. I am not a member but would be willing to join to help maintain this wonderful/useful site. Thanks for all the years of service.

I have covered this in a previous post (I think).....anyways.....

The MCCI and this website are two totally seperate entities. The membership dues paid to the MCCI go toward the MCCI, incorprotated here in the USA. Any fees paid to Stefan or his new undertaking go directly to Stefan in Canada. It would be an accounting nitemare to try and run all fees thru the MCCI, as well as a lot of work to figure out how a not-for-profit U.S. corporation collects fees for a business enterprise in Canada.

The simple answer is they are completely seperate "businesses" and should stay that way. It would be like going to Burger King and getting a Whopper and wanting to pay you phone bill as well. :)

But you should still going the MCCI. The MCCI is way more than what you see on this webpage or any other. You are missing A LOT by not being a member.
