I think I saw that Marlin on craigslist.. I personally think the Maverick is a better looking car and that the Marlin would have looked a HELL of a lot better without a roof(aka regular old Rambler)
Yep, That's my Mav and the Marlin was on Craigslist as well. A moment of weekness for me, but figured if the Mav sold I'd buy the Marlin and another Maverick...
Haha, not a bad idea. The Marlin looks good from the front and the back 3/4 angle but the side view just ain't doin it for me. Must be a fun car with a nice v8 in it though! :Handshake
It's your decision as to what you want to do, but since you asked, yup you made the right choice. If you think finding parts for a Maverick is hard to do, try finding them for a Marlin. About 10 years ago we had the pleasure ( or displeasure ) of restoring one of those cars for someone. At that time NOBODY carried reproduction body panels for those things. The Marlin we worked on needed two quarter panels. We ended up having to use a pair of used ones that were not much better than the ones it already had. The same applied for the fenders and doors. Fixing that car was a nightmare and even though it looked good when it was finished we swore we would never do one again. Now maybe over the years somebody might have started making parts for them again. I don't know. I do know I would never trade off my Maverick for one. But again, the only decision that matters is yours. If you really want the car it might be a good idea to check around and see what kind of parts are readily available in the way of both mechanical and body parts.
