Get rid of those damn poly strut rod bushings ASAP, I wouldn't even drive the car again until you can replace them, I'm not kidding. I'd strongly suggest replacing both strut rods too, they may already be starting to crack, but not yet visibly. They are so dangerous, I don't know why they are even made. They caused a catastrophic front suspension failure in my '72, the passer side strut rod broke only a few thousand miles after installing the poly bushings, causing total loss of control of the car when the lower control arm folded back. The car tried to run over it's own front wheel. Thankfully, it happened while just driving slowly through my neighborhood, but not 10 minutes prior my brother had been on the interstate doing 70-80 mph. That could have been ugly.

I had to replace the lower control arm, inner tie rod end, and sway bar end link on the passenger side, it was all bent and destroyed. Replaced both strut rods with ones off a parts car, and used rubber strut rod bushings from Advance Auto, and have been driving problem free for close to 60,000 miles since then.

I have had 35,000 miles on those poly's although I did brake two rods in the last year(pretty close to a year apart). they have never made this sound, but than again it could very well be them and have caused another issue like the chassis support... man... thats what I get for trying to go for durability in arizona...

They should put the person who designed these in the electric chair for 30 days...that will teach them a lesson.
