Straight alignment still pulls to right, due to crown of road.

    I was just going to say the same thing. If you want to drive up here to KS I will do the alignment for nothing. And I will guarantee it will drive straight when I am done with it.

    Going to try different shop today. One question first...

    If caster is supposed to be 4.5 but i tell them to set it to 3.5 and 3.0, will that free up more room for camber adjustment? Or will it even be needed?

    Gotta get printouts today no matter what.

    I would have to be looking at it..
    They may not want to set them at what you want. Watch out for "can't honor the warranty" crap.
    If it's still "maxed", ask them what it will take to correct it.

    If you do get to where you need to ask him what it would take and he doesn't know or has to go look, in my opinion, he only wanted your money or wanted to get rid of you.. A good tech would've look into it. :2cents:

    If you drop a full degree or 1 1/2 degrees off the caster the truck will tend to wander down the road. Every time I have a lifted truck come into the shop (especially 1500 GM products) that is the first thing I tell them is I will be able to get the camber in but probably not the toe. I have had some trouble getting the caster in on some full sized Dodge trucks but it is normally when I forget to lock the brakes down before I start. Been there done that but not any more. Rookie mistakes ya know. Adjusting the lower control arm is a little different than the upper.

    Well, weather here in Houston SUCKS!!! And I got straight home as quick as I could, and skipped the shop for today. Still took 90 minutes to get home...:cry:

    Yup, pulling that hard.

    Actually, it doesn't pull HARD at all, but I am constantly steering left to keep it on the road. I have 60-75 minute drive each way to work, mostly highway, and that is a lot of time to be pulling a truck toward the left half of the lane. Left arm gets a little fatigued.

    Actually, more worried about my new tires. I want them to last a couple years before I get to the steel belts on one side.

    Wish me luck...just dropped off at a third place. Talked to alignment guy on phone and he said there shouldnt be any reason it cannot be done. He agreed that castercan be manipulated to get it straight. Also promised before and after printouts.

    Too bad i had to drive an hour each way to get here...
