In the process of prepping for the new roller motor to go in the maverick.
When I had the flat tappet 302 in the car I had the 70's huge starter with only the 1 connection for the hot wire from the starter relay.

Now with the new roller motor I have the smaller starter with the attached starter solenoid. I'm just wondering if its easier to just bypass the solenoid and go directly to the lower connection on the solenoid so I bypass it.
If not I'm assuming I'd have to basically remove the starter relay I have now and run that signal wire to the starter and completely eliminate the relay correct?

Just trying to figure out my options.

    Thanks

Hooked it up according to the diagram and wasn't getting anything.
The way it was prior would spin the starter but not engage it.

    Am I missing something?

Assuming the fender solenoid is supplying power to the starter solenoid, you have a bad solenoid on starter...

Yeah it had to have been since it would spin it but not engage.
Kind of figured I had a bad starter or solenoid.
    Thanks
