I know a guy that knows a guy that has a cousin thats married to his nephews stepmom by a 3rd marriage......... Anyways, he has a Pinto (sorry TL ) that runs 5.40's....has a 5 speed in it and he hits everyone thats alot of shifts in 660 feet.
Looks like we will stick with the blind draw so it will be the same as last year. Buy backs after the 1st round ($5). Second round will be winners vs. winners and buy-backs vs. buy backs. Then all winners will be in the hat after that, racing for bragging rights and a trophy. *also here is something that I thought about, let me know what you think. Last year at the Round-up, there was A LOT of folks 1st time ever running a "dial-in/breakout/first or worse" format. I answered a bunch of question before/during the race(which I did not mind) but I guess I took for granted that everyone knew what backet racing was all about and THAT was not completely fair to those folk that had never done it before. Would there be any interest in having a 1 round "practice". You can pair up against whoever you want. Run against them in a "dial-in/breakout/first or worse" format just to get a fill for what its all about. They could run a race, ask some question,,,, kind of like a mulligan or do-over, basically just get their feet wet. Then have the blind draw and start the bracket race? Any thoughts on that?
Sounds good John...a dial vs. dial qualifying run so to speak, it would be good for me as I don't think I've ever waited more than 2 seconds on an opponent before. You might consider 1st and 2nd round buy backs also but only buying back in once. A closest to the dial "dash for cash" would be fun also with everyone that's racing putting a few dollars in a pot. You know what makes it fun John...just do what you think is best.
I'll just throw this out there: I'd like the rules to be changed so that I win - no matter what. We can make up the rules as we go along. Thanks in advance! (At the end of the day, I'm sure we'll all go home winners.)
you know that they can set it up in time trials to put an et on the window if we want. that way we can run different cars. for example a slower car or a faster car so new bracket racers can get a better understanding.
Loocey,, I dun unnerstan I still gettin 4th gear on dat short track Watch Matts video and see that I hit 3rd gear at about 100ft. How do you stay awake on a dragstrip with an automatic transmission:bananaman ? I am bringin my slicks this year,, gonna go down into the 4's Smak smak smak!
I think we should stuff as many brave hearts as possible in "Passion" and make a trek down the track - 'twould make a great keepsake video!
Ron I would guess your somewhere in the 300 lb range ...I may need you in the elimination rounds to slow me down enough to get this thing STOPPED or Plum Crazy is gonna look like the Jolly Green Giant in that cornfield. Believe me Dan...I'm in no danger of going to sleep...right now I'm glad I don't have to remove a hand from the wheel to shift

yeah. in my/pinky's signature Good thoughts on here guys and Rick I think a one time buy back in the 1st or 2nd round would be OK, I just might need help keeping up with it. Don I think thats what we are going to do, I figure maybe 20-30 minutes before eliminations, have the tower set it and let those who want make a run or 2 to try and figure it out.
