I would like to say all five lugs broke due to the massive torque...lol. But I feel they worked they way loose and when I hit the gas the axle spun and the wheel didnt.

Dennis I was looking forward to running you to, we never did run at the same time.

How about I work on a few awards for next years Round up racing. How are these 1) fastest MPH 2) fastest time 3) hard luck award 4) best burnout 5) The Doug Bauer nonstop racer. ANybody else have any ideas.....its my Bday that day so the cake is mine...lol.

Well...the "nonstop racer award" needs to be named in honor of
    DOUG BAUER!

Maybe we can call it the "DAB Award".

Cause I bet Doug made 30 or more passes that day! It looked like Doug was on a road course! He made about 200 laps, It was the "Muncie/Bauer 500"!

Doug radio's to his crew chief: "its a little loose in and tight off 3&4, lets take a 1/2 pound out of the RR.

Hes the only guy I have ever met that had to fill-up twice at a drag strip!

Dougs quote: "I've never done this before, but man its "pretty neat'!"

    :D

For any of the small tire cars to get traction we'll probably need a couple jugs of trackbite!!

VHT TrackBite sets faster, stays tacky for weeks and will not run off even in heavy rains.

This original competition formula will increase race competition and times better than any other track treatment available.

VHT TrackBite was applied to the track surface at every NHRA & IHRA race when world drag strip records were set over the past decade.

    * VHT TrackBite contains no petrolium distillate, will not soften track or adversely effect tire performance or life.

Hey Steve, can you bring some of that stuff and I will help pay for the cost.
I know last year after a couples hours the track was getting real sloopy! My 60 ft. was a consistant 1.55!!!!!!!!
Those little tires need all the help they can get!
Also, if I have the bottle on it by then I am going to try and get a 8 second slip......I am gonna need all the help I can get ;)

With 2.2 60ft times, I could have used a 55 gallon drum of that stuff.

Dennis, we need to put the stickys on your car next year.
I will be taking mine off.......if we have that burn-out contest?
You are more than welcome to try them out!

I think you would be suprised what that car would do was some slicks on it. I know you was wanting a 12 second slip, but with stickys you might just "slip" into the 11 second range!!!!!!

That is if you remember to turn the fuel pump on!

I plan on buying a set of slicks in the spring. Been looking for cheap wheels to mount them on but there appears to be no such thing. I can almost buy custom wheels cheaper. What size tire are you running and on what size rim? also the backspacing. I figure I need a 26" tall and at least 9" width. MT has an ET Drag that is 26" tall with a 9.6 tread width. Suggested rim width is 9". Where do I get a set of 15X9 with a 4 1/2" back space.

Any tire store should be able to get you a set of steel wheels that will accomodate you for about $40.00 each Dennis.
Maybe less if you find the right guy.

    Ok nobody get upset here.
Hey Dennis, just watch ebay. Search under "drag slicks" and just wait for the right set of tires at the right price.
Now is a real good time to buy because no one bidding at christmas.

I've seen many a sets go cheap because the tires didn't work the way the owner thought they would.

If you are going to buy a set of slicks and aren't going to run in just a street class then don't get street slick.

A TRUE set of slicks will hook better then street slicks but if you want to run a street class you will need a DOT slick.

Just food for thought and my .02

    Terry

Tire stores can only get steel rims that were factory. Ford didnt put any 15X9" rims on anything. I know I can get a set custom made for around $100 each plus shipping. That is probably the way I will go.

    Thanks for the link Terry.

Dennis, you don't necessarily need a set of 15x9. When I first started drag racing I bought a set of used aluminum 15x7's. I mounted 26x10" Hoosiers and went racing. It worked fine, I ended up going in the low 7's in the 1/8th on them. If anyone is interested I have a slightly used set of Hoosier 26x10's with about 75% life on them. My buddy has several sets of Mickey Thompson used slicks (also 26x10)for sell also, they all have around 7-12 passes on them. These slicks are perfect for anything going slower than 6.5's in the 1/8th.

Sounds good to me Steve. Email me a price and shipping to 21032. How many passes do you normally get from a set?
