Uh...of course the MCCI guys would not be eleigible for trophies, but their cars could be seen and we could insure fair and honest judging.
What?! You know a judge can't vote for his own car. Seriously though, Frank, with a good set of written guidelines, you, Earl, MAV, Dan, et al would make very good judges.
I would assemble a panel of judges from local car clubs such as Mustang clubs, Camaro clubs etc. You should be able to find them on the internet and it will increase your participation. Just don't let any single club take a major role in organizing or judging-it makes for hard feelings all around in my experience. The last thing that you want is for some guy with a pristine cherry '69 Z/28 to get beat by someone with a '72 Grabber that is merely a clean daily driver. I have seen similar things happen-in all directions. That guy won't feel that he was judged fairly, and that guy with the regular Maverick with the new paint that didn't win will have hard feelings b/c his Mav didn't place. If it is an all Mav show, that is fine, but if it is open to the public-and put on by your church, it should be fair and open to all comers. Your church will appreciate that as well. Seth
I say the main thing is to keep it lighthearted and fun. This is a church function first and a show second. Some folks take their cars and themselves way too seriously when it comes to something like this. Just keep me posted as to time and date Terry...I'd like to come just to get together with my fellow Mav owners. I've resigned myself to the fact that I will remain the only member of the club and the board from South Carolina so you Georgia guys are my surrogate chapter.
Terry; If you need me for a judge, that is fine. I do think Seth is right, though, try to get some judges from different clubs. That would ease a lot of worries about biased judging. Sounds like you're going to have a great show. Let me know if I can help.
