That's sort of what I'm saying. It you re-body, I assume you would use the old dash (with the correct VIN). Also, you can buy a reproduction door tag. The only thing left is under the fenders I guess. If you're really worried, you could eliminate that or transfer it from the other car. :yup: The way I look at it, restoring a car is similar to that of building a custom car. The VIN laws are in place to keep from stealing a car and transferring the VIN plates from another to resell it. In this case, there would be two LEGAL cars that are getting combining and using one of the VIN plates. I can only speak to Oklahoma laws though, I have no idea about other states.

Ultimately gang...Untill these cars are recognized by the CCCA and the Pebble Beach crowd as being worthy of recognition like: Shelby Mustangs and COPO Camaros,Does it really matter at all??? Its just a car.Do what you want with it.If you want to clone a grabber or re-vin a car and can get away with it...More power to you.I Have one special order 6 digit DSO Mav(which I have and will continue to modify) and a Sprint with a 351 and AOD in it(That aint original!!).I really aint too worried about the concourse police branding me and my cars as Pariahs. All I am saying is "If you have the means and will to save a car that others would part out...regardless of its' significance or lack there of...Go for it!!"

Man,, I am one bliss dude. Very interesting thread here guys. I am enjoying it. And as I have state before, I have fixed waaaaaaaaaay worse. Really not a hard fix. You would be surprised at how one days moving of metal can change an entire opinion, or removing a vin tag.:D

    I totally agree! :yup:

    ...didn't think of that.

I think we got a little off topic with the re-body discussion. I think this Sprint can be fixed. :bouncy:
