are you sure its not a 91 escort... as i remember, 81 escorts had a cable activated clutch.... and that clutch master cylinder is the same one i sent you a link for at first the whole thing is as long as it moves about 1.2-1.5 inches it should work fine.... just gotta wait and see i guess.... same problem im having :Handshake

Best thing to do would probably be to measure how far the arm travel is on a stock cable setup, then find one with the same travel. Definitely keep us updated, this is something I would like to do as well.
