I know all about it. I work in one of the three paint shops at Kubota Manufacturing of America where tractors and RTV's are built. It's very similar to auto factories, just on a little smaller scale. We have three assembly lines and built over 80,000 units last year. The tractors and individual runs of parts have internal factory paperwork that tells info about the parts or tractor that is removed and thrown away when the tractors are crated.
I think this is one of those "Unsolveable Maverick Mysteries" You'd figure, once the car was welded together, then serialized, there had to be some sorta tag to identify it...different plants did different things. Does anyone know if Kansas only made Mavericks & Comets? St.Thomas produced Mavericks & Pintos one after the other, so the tag made some sorta sense...
