New power steering questions. Type fluid? Cooler needed? Where to find pulley?

    Might consider using what you use in your trans so you always have some for one or the other.. In all my years I never seen a problem using whichever type in a ps system so long as it was the same when servicing and refilling, topping etc..

    I put 2 coolers on mine. It just looked out of balance with just one. LOL. I figure at some point I'll use the second cooler for Motor oil or trans. :rolleyes:

    I agree with this. One less thing to have to remember/stock.

    Original Maverick transmissions used Type F, and so does the Mustang 5.0 Power Steering. I'd say Craig hit it dead on the money. Besides, Mercon V smells like cat urine, so I'd really hate to have a quart of that leak in the trunk!
