Actually Scott...you can plumb the whole damn car with braided line and NHRA won't give a chit. It is the rubber line that they don't like. Also, I use duct tape instead of electrical tape. Holds the strands better. We use Marvel Mystery Oil for assembly instead of motor oil.
i gave up on the braided line. nhra has approved hi pressure rubber line and it's so easy to work with. i love it. and you can use as much as you want.
you know.. you all make it sound so easy i think i am gonna invest in that tool... got a part number>?
Tool looks cool. Id suggest the -6 for tranny also. I just happened to get a good deal on the -4 that I have
Do not use soft lines on the tranny cooler lines. Use metal for as much of it as you can. Rubber lines have a lot more internal friction and the pressure in those lines is needed to lubricate the rear of the case. Metal lines are also less likely to get damaged and leak all your oil onto the ground.
OK, dummy question here... How do you say or pronounce "-6AN"? So if I go to the store, what do I ask for instead of "3/8 AN"? Is it "negative -six", "dash-six", "ought-six", etc...
I only got poked once. That was when I was trying to lay the braid back down after it flared up with the dremel cutoff tool. After I used the cable cutter, no problems at all. I consider this a successful and pain-free project (see? no bandaid on my thumb )
