My Car didn't Turn Off

    Funny to see this thread come up. My car did this keep running thing this weekend.

    Confused, did you have the key tumbler AND the electric switch replaced? Some people an ignition switch one part, they call the lock cylinder (or tumbler) the ignition switch. the lock cylinder accepts the key. then the key is turned and the lock cylinder rotates a gear that pushes or pulls on a rod. the rod goes into the actual electronic ignition switch. Depending on where the key is turned the rod pushes a contact plate inside the ignition switch to activate the systems.

    I suspect my problem and maybe yours is a bad ignition switch. if the lock cylinder or gear was bad then it would have a hard time pushing the rod far enough to crank.

    Hmm, I think they just replaced the ignition switch, at least that's all they told me about. I suppose it doesn't matter, I feel like I'm beating a dead horse, the poor thing has worse problems than this anyway. Just glad it still moves for now:)
