    hey, im also from ky.
i would go with the mav. the fairmont may have every advantage in terms of suspension/handling/safetly/etc but i like the mavericks body style and simplicity and they have been a good car to me.

THe Maverick isn't getting a fair shake because it appears roughter in the pics than the Maverick. Put the wheels off of the Fairmont on the Mav and get the outside painted and completed....Maverick would be the obvious winner.

Now if the Fairmont was a roller 5.0 with a T5 and an 8.8" rear end...I'd say Fairmont.

They both look like they may have rust in the lower doors skins. I like both but I think the Fairmont would get my nod. Perfect sleeper!

I vote Mav. if it was me. Fairmonts are OK so long as someone else owns it. They are even more of a grocery getter, smogger than our Mavs.
Even if the Fairmont goes big block you just have a faster ugly box.
    Just my 2 cents.

Remember guys the Fairmont replaced the Maverick. Not to mention it dominated Pro Stock with Bob Glidden at the wheel. Both cars deserve our respect.:thumbs2:

Fairmount replaced the Granada. The Granada was supposed to replace the Maverick...but it didn't.

But, there was a version of the Granada based on the Fairmont Fox chassis. I had one, an 82 IIRC. Two door, 250 I6 car. So the Granada and Fairmont actually exisited at the same time, on the same chassis.....

First of all, you're asking which car to keep on a Maverick board! KEEP THE MAVERICK! :D

This is true. Here's an '81 Granada.

If it was me I'd sell the Fairmont. They were built much cheaper than the Maverick and,at least here, rust BAD. I had an 81 that was a very anemic 200. The body had holes through it in 2 yrs! Yours looks nice now,so I would try to sell it now! Ford managed to choke down the 6 cyl engine down so bad in these, that the 4 had as much power. Keep your Maverick,I think you'll be much happier with it!:)
