manual steering is it true

    well its been a week or so and I am glad to report everything is cool with the adjustment....

    I just got mine finished as well. It took me a while to get the right belt, The first one I got was the right length but too narrow, so it rode to low in the pulleys & thus was too long in the end. Tried a couple other sizes but basically ended up buying the stock length belt for a non a/c or p/s 302 (42.5 x 15/32).

    One potential problem -- without a bracket on the top bolt, the bolt will flex ever so slightly. Was talking to MavMark about this, and he said his does not have a top bracket, and after several years, the bolt snapped off. I don't think it will be hard to come up with a bracket for it, would be virtually flat, or could be flat with a few washers at the water pump end.

    Matt I had a piece of chrome plated flat stock drilled two holes and with a small spacer bolted it to the waterpump and to the bolt that holds the alt. to the head
    problem solved and it looks nice too...
