All you need is one of the more common 1.12 bore models. Start here: http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=Au...100&_osacat=0&bkBtn=&_trksid=p3286.m270.l1313 By the way, they are easy to rebuild.
thanks everyone. 1.12 bore? how can i identfy this? is it by serial #, or is it by a part#, or is by looking down into the carb? or something only a true carb guy can see?
Hopefully, you can see the bore size on the throttle linkage side of the carb behind the dashpot bracket.
at the top of the page for the link you sent to e-bay, there is a 1.08 bore carb. i know there is a diff. whats the options here. less power, less vacume?
Only 440 to 480 CFM (advertised) for 1.08 versus 550 to 600 CFM (advertised) for 1.12 bore. If you get one off of a 390, you should be okay. Key word is should.
YOU SIR- ARE A PLETHRA OF CARB INFO. i have learned a lot from you! and i hope to be able to pick your brain in the future. thank you ever so much. Rick
You have pretty much picked me clean. I will so be reverting back to moron status. I can remember all the info I learned in the 70's like I just learned it yesterday, but can't remember what my wife asked me to bring home this morning.
Nope. She sends the kids for the grocery stuff and it ain't time for the next check. Hopefully, she will call me back before I leave. this is one of those situations where it's my fault if I don't come home with it, even if she never calls me back to confirm it. Sounds right, don't it?
