Thanks hawkco, my build is the e-7 heads, stock intake(cast iron),stock exhaust manifold"so i can get to the plugs",a mild "rv" cam, rebuilt trans c4,thrush mufflers, stock rear end"3:00,w/22570R14's on the rear. im looking for a mild punch off the light, with the economy of a daily driver. the car is being built for my wife, who has a heavy foot already. so i dont need a hot rod. i like your sugestion, although im am not a lucky guy, i will keep my eyes peeled for the 4100. maybe someone reading this thread will know of a good cheap source. thanks again. :Handshakerick.

I used one of those old '58 T-Bird 4100s on my 350 hp 289 back in '72. It worked just fine.

All you need is one of the more common 1.12 bore models. Start here:

    http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=Au...100&_osacat=0&bkBtn=&_trksid=p3286.m270.l1313

By the way, they are easy to rebuild.

Hopefully, you can see the bore size on the throttle linkage side of the carb behind the dashpot bracket.

Only 440 to 480 CFM (advertised) for 1.08 versus 550 to 600 CFM (advertised) for 1.12 bore. If you get one off of a 390, you should be okay. Key word is should.

Nope. She sends the kids for the grocery stuff and it ain't time for the next check. Hopefully, she will call me back before I leave. this is one of those situations where it's my fault if I don't come home with it, even if she never calls me back to confirm it. Sounds right, don't it? :hide:
