Here is the series of emails that went back and forth. My original email to them starts at the very bottom, so start reading there and work your way up. They are PROUD of their springs, judging by the high price. Now what?

    Gene,

there is no comparison being our springs and the ones you speak about. During the life of the Maverick Ford used 29 different springs on the cars. We offer not only all 29, but we can also make custom versions. We make "the spring for the car". The suppliers you speak about offer a "one size fits all" type spring.

    Thank You

    Mike,
Thanks for your quick response. I have to say that $429.00 seems like a
lot of money for those springs, considering there are other sources,
quoting between $120.00 and $200.00 per pair for a 4 leaf heavy duty
spring for this application. Granted they are all out of stock right
now. Are your springs that much better? Please enlighten me. Thanks
    again.

    Gene

    Gene,

we do not supply them with springs. As far as I know they sell an
imported spring. Our springs are made here in Detroit and match the OE
    design as close as possible.

The springs for Mavericks are 429.00 per pair plus shipping.

In order to provide a shipping price we need the Zip Code to where your
    order will be sent to.

We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, Money Orders, Wire
Transfers, Checks and Cash. Sorry no COD.

Due to the large number of e-mails and phone calls I handle everyday I
am not talented enough to remember everything I wrote or spoke about.
So, when responding back help me by include this response. If you do not
you may not get an answer.

    Thank You

I have been trying, along with about 5 other guys, to buy a set
of rear leaf springs for various years of Ford Mavericks from JCWhitney.
Do you guys supply these springs to them? They are telling us that the
springs are backordered until at least June. Can you shed some light on
    our dilemma? Thanks.

That is a lie ... when I bought JC-Whitney springs they were actually dropped shipped from a company in the USA and were marked Made in USA.

MY rear eyes were larger diameter than my bushings too. I used them anyway because they were not too big that it wouldn't work until I figured it out. Since then I have heard the Mustang springs have bigger shackle bushings so I will pick up a set before the cruising begins and see if thats true. Also My springs were made in the US and the company name and address was on the paper work. I called them to enquire about the larger diameter eye and they were pretty rude and refused to help me at all. Said I had to contact JCW, which I did, but got nowhere with them either. I know I can find the proper bushings so I'm not too worried about it. I would still recommend these springs.

I sent an email to eaton yesterday, but no answer :16suspect .

I'm now waiting for an answer from the canadians at:
    http://www.dendoff.com

    Extreamly quick response from Dendoff:

They can suppy 3 and 4 leaf springs for CAD 274,7 (pair) how much is that in USD?

Not in stock so we would be looking at 8 - 10 weeks

Prices are as low as they go unless we order 100+

I just received them today and they look great. There was a sticker on each spring that said, Stanley Springs Dayton Parts, LLC - Harrisburg, PA...MADE IN USA. I called General Springs and spoke to the guy. I had him call the supplier FIRST to make sure they had them in stock before I placed my order. Got them pretty quick too...about 6 days.
