Wow!!! Great looking car. I love the console. I just might have to do something similar. Whats up with the front valance? Why does it look so different? Its very closed off except for the radiator area.
yes they are 69 cougar taillights,i mounted them so the only thing you see from the outside is the frame here is a picture of the hole i had to cut. if its nice out this saturday i will get some pictures in the sun. the paint is ohama orange i got off of e-bay with orange and white pearl in the clear. the front vallance was something i tried, to give it a little bit different look in the front. i wanted one from a 70-72 but couldnt find one at the time,so this is what i came up with, although now i have a70-72 vallence just sitting around. thanks for the possitive replys glad you like it. ed
no what i did was took my 73 vallance and just closed in the opening 15" (i think ) on each side. i've been thinking about adding some lights down there but not sure yet
On my Comet GT I plan on closing that front valance opening to just slightly bigger than the width of the radiator. I was going to cut the curved part out, move it where I want it, reweld it, then fill the gap with sheet stock. Is that how you did it? I also notched and boxed my rear valance for 72 Corvette exhaust tips. I'd be courious to see how you did your notches.
on my front valance i traced the curve then made the whole piece from sheet stock even the lip then welded them in, my exhaust cutouts was really simple, i made them the same size as 67-68 mustang gt cut outs,i just cut the hole and put a little flare on them to try and make them stand out a little. i'm going to use the same exhaust tips that came on those mustangs. i will see if i can get some good close up's saturday. i plan on pulling it outside then, i haven't even seen it outside myself, since i painted it.
