"I rebuilt my C-4 I used to have in my old LTD when I was about 16" He he funny I`m 16. I`m getting a FULL rebuild kit for ~ 60 bux I think it was (its realy nice to know a tranny builder ) , I only have a car port and I realy don`t have the best place to rebuild my tranny so this time I`m gonna watch the pro do it even though it sounds purdy easy if I were to take it easy and slow . Thanks for the tips .
When you put in the torque convertor how far back should the studs be below the bellhousing lip or should they be flush.
Measure from the flat of the converter(where the studs are)and to the lip of the bell housing and it shoud be right at 1" give or take a 1/16" we went thru this on Matt's converter so it's fresh in my mind
My distance is only the length of the studs, probaby 1/2 inch. What torque convertor did you guys use.
Yes, with the mounting surface around an inch inside the bell, the studs should be 1/4 - 1/2" inside, depending on their length (I never measured them)
you might try turning and wiggling the convertor a little and making sure you got it all the way in. some times the last little clunk takes some playing with it.
Just got back with my new tranny last night and I`m gonna get started putting it in today . I need to weld in a new right cat in the exhaust then it will finaly be ready for the road again .
