Barry 28 spline would be rare coming out of an F-150.. mine is from an F-150 and are 31 spline, but thats what I wanted, I have no fear of putting lotsa HP and torque to the rear wheels.
I could be wrong but the axles from a truck seem beefier than those from a car.

I was using the word lucky more to describe a Bronco rear with a low geared chunk/LS setup already in it.
Then being 28 spline already, as suggested earlier, I could trim it slightly and re-use my Maverick axles.
That is what I would consider a 'lucky' find, main because it's low-buck.
    I am cheap! :slap:

    Sorry I was not clear.

I know what you mean. My 9" has 31 spline axles, "N" case, "Daytona" pinion retainer, and Traction Loc w/3.89:1 gears. I'm sure something else in the drivetrain will break before the rear (can you say T5  ). The axles do taper down at the spline end, so if there is any weakness I guess that's where it would be. So maybe the truck axles don't have the tapered ends?

Do you know any dimensions on that?
I found one in a yard today, it looks like it has the car bolt pattern on the wheels, which surprised me...
I found one list of 9" rear measurements that said it was around 68" wide, but it sure didn't look that wide.
It did however, look like the spring pads were too far apart to swap.
