When i built my Comet i spent 4-6 hours a night after work and 8-10 hours nearly every weekend.Took it from a rolling shell to a running and driving car in 5 months.
But it was a bonus that the wife was working steady afternoons and weekends at the time. Now it's not so convienent.

Use 3M weatherstrip adhesive(black)...There should be a narrow channel along the bottom edge of the door that the rubber fits into.:yup:

Well folks my friend Chris and myself ,put in 6 hrs today and got a bit done ,we pulled the disk brake spindles from the donor car and the power steering setup cleaned it all up and installed it in the 69.5 ,we also took the 2 barrel intake, carb ,valve covers ,water pump ,timing chain cover ,oil pan off the 302 and did a clean up of everything. We pulled the stock cam out and tomorrow i will talk to my machinest about a good cam to go into it that will go well with the 5 speed tranny im putting into this car . I believe i will have this fresh 302 back together and in the car by the end of the month.New cam, timing chain,Aluminum 4 barrel intake, new carter 625,fresh paint job on the engine. ( im not sure im going headers os stock exhaust manifold because of the t5), We also pulled the 5 bolt 8 inch rearend from the donor car and installed it in the 69.5. It was a good day,no more work on it till next Sat and Sun and yes Chris is still on my payroll for next week.I have three cars to build and finish in four months so i think Chris and i will be at it every weekend till June 1st. cheers Jimmy

My work schedule is usually 1PM-9:30PM, so I have the mornings free to work on the cars. I usually spend 1-2 hours a morning working on one of them, plus several hours on my days off.

Currently, I am pulling the engine/trans from my white '69 conv. The seals are old on the tranny and I have another one to go in it. While out, I will detail the engine bay. If all goes as planned, then I will be putting it up for sale to finish another one of the cars. I kinda rotate sometimes from car to car.

I would like to get the Sprint Maverick finished this year, if possible. The things left are expensive ones, though, such as paint and body work.

    Jim

doing the restoration, we've got close to 30 hours a week x 2 years not counting the first buildup 10 years ago at around a few hundred hours then....

lets just say, if i was paying someone to do the body work, engine, interior, fabs and all, my mav would be waaaaaaaay too expensive for me to want to drive, but luckily i'm never getting rid of it, so resale is not an issue.
