the trans fluid get put in through the dip stick tube. there are special funnals at auto parts stores that fit nicely. i sugest to drive the car for 5 min to warm up the transfluid, then while the car is running you check the level on the dip stick. now add fluid as needed. be carefull to read the dipstick correctly, once you put atf in through the tube it will make it hard to get a good reading of the level becasue fluid is stuck on the walls of the tube.

ho. so you put the fluid in the same place that you're reading the level of the fluid?

Yes, and make sure the rngine is idling in PARK when you fill it and when you check the level.

ok, so the transmission problem looks sold, i'll have to drive it more to see, but it was shiffting perfect this morning after puting fluid.

but i still have the problem with the carb:
when i bought the car a month ago, i could go on 1st gear, press the throttle all the way and the wheels would spin and the horses arrived right away, from idle to 3500 (never tryed higher than that)

now if i do that, the car almost die... like if it was running rich i think.
but i tryed to screw the mixture screw in and i get misfires.
so i'm not sure it's because it's running too rich anymore.
can it be something else? can it be the opposite? running too poor?
float level? pump rod? bowl vent? kick down?
the horses clearly arrive after 2000 RPM.

i called "midas" here in omaha, they ask $90 for a carburetor adjustment:cry:

so if you guys have any idea before i spend that much money just to set my carburetor right...

    also, another newbe question:

what is that bucket for? steering wheel?

    [IMG][IMG]

    it's connected to that guy:

    [IMG][IMG]

what fluid am i supposed to put in? and until what level? (there is no mark on the side of the bucket)

    thanks guys!

I think if you look closely at it you will find that it is taking the place of your charcoal canister as the vent for the fuel tank. Don't put anything in it but you should connect that flex hose that is broken off in front back up to the inside of your air cleaner.

ummm... i unfortunatelly don't have anything to plug it to my aircleaner:16suspect

as far as the rest... the transmission problem is definitly solved
(so thanks for the advice about the fluid level):thumbs2:
    the carb runs awesome too
(so thanks for the advice about rebuilding it myself, it saved me $300):thumbs2:
and now the car runs perfect too!:thumbs2:
for the car , the garage guy said the timing was pretty off, that's why i didn't have any torque at full throttle from iddle to 2000 rpm.
now the back wheells scream again!:dancing:
the garage guy was pretty nice and didn't charged me as much as he was supposed too...
so, i'm probably gonna stop by tomorow to deliver him a 6 pack:Handshake

next week: change those ugly big bumpers for the small onces!
a big "thanks" to meanmaverick for that!:Handshake
