i know it would be hard to judge 42 of the same cars but to me super modified should get points for racing seats 8 point or more cage and all the race gear..like fuel cell a kill switch and all the super modified stuff….and ding points for stock seats stock rear end stock fuel tank no kill switch judge for super modified not give points for nice stock seats in a super modified car .....just like the paint or stickers making it super modified think we need a custom class for cars like that ... LED dashes and keyless entry and wild paint or stickers ffice:oops:ffice" /><O:p></O:p>

Dennis, I didn't know the info was at the round-up, it's good to know it was available. For what it is worth department maybe next year it could be hand it out when a car is registered, and if someone doesn't want it then they can refuse to take it. :) Please take this as only a suggestion, and not criticism. I think everyone who worked hard to make the round-up a success did a great job!!! (y) It will remain to be one of the best highlights for me in 2004, I had a great time, and my only regret is not going in previous years.

I have to agree with a couple of posts. I don't think that
Maverickgrabber was questioning the finish order, just some
clarification on how the classes are judged. I didn't see it
as critical, and I like others applaud those who get all this
    together. Great job!

So in which class would my car have been judged at this years Roundup?

    '74 Comet GT
Showroom stock appearance. original paint code color with
all original stripes, original forged aluminum wheels, original interior
with exceptions below. Original 302 block, original C4 tranny, original
    open 2.79 8' rear.

    Modifications:
Est. 300 HP 306 (.030-302) with 351W(Ford) heads with lotsa work
Finned Cobra valve covers and oval intake breather(ala Shelbys)
    Console from a '71-'73 Mustang/Cougar.
    Vintage Stewart Warner aftermarket gauges.
Cobra logo'd wooden shifter handle (ala Shelby CJ's)
Moto-Lita/LeCarra wood and polished aluminum steering wheel.
Bumpers have been swapped to '73. It looks like a '73 except for the
    3 point retractable seat belts.

Would I be lightly modified? Without raising the hood, some people
have thought that I am attempting a concours original resto?

Tell me so that I will know for next year. By then, it may have a
2 point roll bar for looks too. If I am too modified at this point, I may
dump the skinny 14X6 polishmedaily wheels and get some 15 in.
    Cragars!!

I don't remember why I put Wilber's car in Super Modified. It may be because I just ask Wilber what class he was in last year, and his response was "I don't remember, Super Modified?" There is that human factor again, you know, I probably screwed up. Thankfully there are people to point out our mistakes. Be sure to volunteer your services next year when its time to classify cars so no more mistakes will be made.

As I stated at the award ceremony.......the awards are 7% of what the entire weekend is all about. All awards, from best of show down to 10th place....are exactly the same size.....4 x 6 processed wood product with a metal engraved tag under a full color silk screen Round-Up Logo.

Wilbur's car....and Wilbur agrees.........is Super Modified because as his engine sets now, it would not fit under a standard factory Maverick hood....hence.....the cowl hood.

Seth.....your car, as I "read" it....would be semi-modified....one step above stock. If you add the rollbar....it will move up to Modified.

This sums it up for me about judging, Me and the Wife are sittin at the back of the car just soaking up the great weather and I'm just about to drift off into the land of nod and Dennis asks if thats a 9" rear end under the car and I reply yessir it is. I look over at the wife and say ruh roh...that means something:eek: . I'm parked next to Lonnies car, definitely not the place to park if you want your car noticed,:p I look over at Lonnie and can see he's really worried, he's sawing logs at a rate that would make a lumberjack proud.:D
