1974 Maverick I bought for $500 8 years ago when I was 16. Since then I have invested $30,000 into it.
I think Im a little late but happy birthday Todd. 17 was not to long ago for me I dont think. Im 25, but a wedding and 2 babys later has definitely helped to realize how I had when I was 17. Sometimes miss it but dont regret anything Ive done. So, live it up man! 74Maverick, Thom

Thanks everybody, Yea i can not drive crazy AT ALL. I got pulled over today in my parents truck at 7 in the morning. The cop asked me if i was old enough to drive and i gave him my license and all that hoopla. I wonder if they do that alot?

Maybe the cop wanted to listen to that Jethro Tull music coming from your folks truck?

happy birthday todd! Just to give you the female perspective. will cops pull you often more over cause you're a young guy driving a cherry mav? maybe, maybe not, I got pulled over when I busted a red, late at night and almost spun out going around a corner, did I get a ticket, nope! Just depends on the timing and the cop. But try to remember, when you do get pulled over and if you ever get a ticket, there was probably sometime or something you did at some point that you should have gotten one and didn't. Cops are par for the course, just relax, be safe, and enjoy seventeen. And as for the whole quanitity versus quality, I don't necessarily agree (engaged to the high school sweetheart, over six years together!). And also girls, at least smart ones, will know what quantity over quality means, if you know what I mean! You're a smart kid, you'll figure it out. And lastly as Preston said, enjoy the time in high school and living at home! As soon as that last year of college rolls around ( I graduate with my BA in June, whoo hooo!) you have to become like a real adult and let me tell you, toilet paper is expensive! Congrats and take care!

Jeri, great post. I dont really worry about the cops if im not doing anything wrong, but when i have to be somewhere, like wrestling and i get pulled over for nothing, it tends to get on my nerves. hahaha. I know how the poor thing is, my sister is about to graduate med school in another year and she has 0 dollars, yet she can buy cigarettes, I just dont want to get to the point where i buy newspapers for TP. hahahaha.

Funny story, kinda a short one, but funny all the more.
My friend was online last night when i was home doing nothing with my newly aquired license, and he said, and i quote" youre a loser man, you have your license and youre home doing nothing, you loser." Now i know he was just busting my chops but i got him good. I came back with"Whats the problem little boy without even a permit? Do you need a ride?" that shut him up real quick. hahahaha

Doug - I couldnt listen to Tull in the truck cuz they dont have a cd player. But friday night. as cold as it was, i rolled down the windows, turned up the radio and cruised down route 9. it was great. Nothin like it! haha
