explain that your car wasn't equipped with it...:yup:

as for not wearing seatbelts at all, in a perfect world it sure would be nice but i definetly wear mine all the time because i worry about other people hitting me, not vice versa there lol :yup: i prefer to keep my head from going through the windshield LOL! :D

My shoulder belts disappeared the day after I brought my car home. I wear lap only and honestly I have recently not even been wearing it.

But his car WAS equipped with it.....and that is all that really matters in the eyes of the law.

2005 Rx8 with mods... hopefuly some time soon I will have another maverick and have time to work on it!
Oh man 200 for a seat belt citation :mg: It's only 20 here.

The shoulder belt will lock on most vehicles with the spring bearing locking mechanism. I noticed when I ripped the seat belts out of the 73 it had a spring in the shoulder belt that almost took my eye out when it flew out, didn't look to see if it was a locking and retracting or just retracting spring.

if you are going to ban cell phones, then I think CB's should be banned as well. Taking your eyes off the road to change channels, adjust squelch, reaching for the mic you just dropped on the floor, etc...all much more dangerous then my handsfree cell phone usage.

If the car had a shoulder harness, and if the cop seen you didn't have it on,then the ticket sounds justified.I'm not defending "Johnny Long Arm",but if it goes to court, more than likely Your going to get hammered.I'd just pay the fine, move on,and be done with it.If the belt hinder's your driving, that much,You can get a statement from your Dr.

Breaker breaker rubber duck,,,, we got a convoy of seat-belted 18 wheelers gonna crash this gate!!!! :drive:

There out there,,, don't use them like they use too. Trucks got knocked down to speed limit or close to it. And then you get guys yammering,,, stays on the side pretty much anymore

Mines in my fishing closet. Still works great.
We use the Cobra hand held talkies now when we go on a trip.

I highly suggest everyone wear a shoulder belt even if it's a pain. When you get into a collision your internal organs are what take a beating when your chest hits the wheel. you look fine on the outside but you're bleeding internally.
