i want to get a set of gears for 1/4 mile. i have a c4 9" rear 26" tires, just wanted to find out if 4.11 gears would be too much? i want to stay about 6000 rpm at end.or would i be better off with3.89?right now im running 12.4 @114 with street tires and 3.50 gears, i didnt get to see what rpm i was at though.
With your current gear and tire size you would need to turn approx 5150rpm to go 114mph, and that doesn't allow for any converter slippage..... If you change to a 4.1 you would need to turn approx 6050rpm to go 114mph, also not allowing for any converter slippage..... Iwould not go any more then 3.89 if you want to keep it around 6000.....
