I'm running 3:80's with a T-5...While it's good for performance it's a little low for a DD which mine is not so it's all good
I've heard that before...still don't believe it...I and others run 3:55s with AODs ...no problems. what is the point in running an OD trans if you have to turn 3000 RPMs...
LOL... Its a some do, some dont "your results may vary" kind of thing frank. My experience with the Sprint and the edelbrock carb and AOD trans is that it definitely picked up some MPG, and a minor carb re-tune (re-adjusted mixture/idle) was in order after I installed the 3.80s' in it. Big difference in the carbs performance in OD (for the better) at cruising speed on the highway. It was definitely a bit fat before the gear swap. Not now though, and cruise rpm didnt change that much. Went from barely 1800 rpm at 65 to 2100 at same speed. Car did over 21mpg on the trip to and from the round up. Would have been around 17 with the 2.79s' for the same trip. The carb definitley behaved much better in OD with the 3.80s' But as I said...Your results may vary...LOL...Say hi to Effi for me Frank.
