Keep in mind I know they can be off alot sometimes but we have run mine at the track and it's always within a tenth and 1 and a half mile an hour. I have a slightly off combo, too. It has ported Windsor heads with big valves a 650 DP, on a Twisted torqer single plane, 9" with 3.70 Trac Lok rear, and a cam that is too big for its 8:1 compression ratio. I run 42 degrees of total timing, and it has full length headders and 2.5 inch exhaust with H pipe and the obligatory Flowmasters. Here is the wrong part, It's backed by a stock C-4 that stalls to a mighty 1300 RPM! I ran the car 3 times and the best was 14.26 @ 103.9. Worst was 14.44 @ 102.6
My Friend with a Mid 15@ 90 MPH second El Camino diddnt believe that it could run that kind of MPH. So we raced and at half track I blew by him like he'd shut his motor off. I went from 1 car behind to 2 ahead at the end. He still doesnt believe it so I give up. As you can see by the combo it's all top end. The car weighs 2840 LBS and doesnt make enough low end torq to spin its tires at all. So it is very consistant. Any way thanks to a few members of the board my car will soon have its 4-Speed Toploader installed and hopfully run mid 13s.
I think a 331 is in its future.
